Ventures is for young adults ages 16-21 years old.

Glanworth Vents are, what appears to be a dying breed, but right now we're fantastic!

Our meetings are on Monday nights at 8 o' clock and last for an hour. We are the proud owners of... the venture room beliebe it or not its just ours!

come down and check it out on Mondays!!!

We haven’t really been up to much, this year other than LOADS of fund raising. Why you ask? To send the Beautiful Bernadette Barry and the Fantastic Katherine Jones to the explorer belt.

We did a sponsored cycle

Kiddies disco and

A county Vent sleepover

In our den

It’s been quite a good year alright but was going to improve dramatically for next year.

The above is a picture of our NEW county venture necko.

Before you ask the colours don’t represent anything they just look class. This necko can be worn on county and national events and in the privacy of you bed room… who am I to judge!

Katherine Jones and Bernadette Barry are headed to the explorer belt this July and August.

 PORTUGAL here they come.

The explorer belt is a challenge where the participants (teams of 2) treck across a foreign country, doing projects, writing logs, facing language barriers and living on a budget of four euro a day. The teams must walk a total of 200km in 10 days. They also have time to sight see after the trekking is completed. They stay in the country for 21 days or there bouts.

Past belts have been held in, the USA, Canada, Italy, the British Isles, France and many other European countries.

This is a real test for the girls but I know, belt or no belt they’ll do us proud! (That being said, they better not come home without the belt).

GOOD LUCK!!!!

Chris Walsh and Eadaoin Horgan are going to the Challenge in Mayo this year!!!!

The challenge is like a mini explorer belt, it tales place somewhere in Ireland (generally where the expedition leader is from). The challenge is 8 days long, it consists of an expedition lasting 5 days, where (like the belt) the teams must live on a budget of 4 euro a day, walk 100km and write projects and logs along the way.

The challenge is the perfect form of training for anyone who thinks they want to do the belt or rover way, and if you do, GOOD LUCK you’ll need it!!!
