Glanworth 105th

Beavers

The beaver section opened in 1992 and is very active. The section has had high numbers since then. The colony is an artistic bunch, we can tell as there is drawings and paintings all around the den.

Cubs

The cub section also opened in 1992 and is a very important part of scouting in Glanworth. There is currently about 29 cub scouts and about ten of them are going to scouts come august the cubs go on many events and are very active as a pack and within the county.

Scouts

Glanworth scout group was opened about 17 years ago by Michael-John Shinnick. The section has been running successfully since because of the commitment and dedication over the years from leaders such as, Attie Wilson, Sandra Fitzgibbon, Liam Lawton, Eilish Barry, Patsy Barry, Don Cashman, and Mark Ryan and many many more. (My apologies, I’m young. I don’t know them all.) The scout section is currently being run by the Vent leader Ray Barry and our Group leader Patsy Barry. Bernadette Barry a registered venture is also a registered assistant leader.

The first chief scout in our section was one, Ber Barry. We know have four proud recipients of the chief scout award.
